Our Mission

TC Sentinel exists to ensure the communities of Florida's Treasure Coast have access to reliable, comprehensive local news every day. We believe that informed citizens are the foundation of strong communities, and that local journalism — covering city councils, school boards, courts, and everyday life — is essential to that mission.

Coverage Area

We cover Martin County, St. Lucie County, and Indian River County — the three counties that make up Florida's Treasure Coast. Our reporting focuses on local government, public safety, education, business, sports, and community life in cities including Stuart, Port St. Lucie, Fort Pierce, Vero Beach, Jensen Beach, Palm City, Sebastian, and surrounding areas.

Our AI-Assisted Model

TC Sentinel is an AI-assisted newsroom. We use artificial intelligence tools to help gather, organize, and draft news content from publicly available sources including government records, press releases, public meeting agendas, court filings, and verified data feeds.

Every article published by TC Sentinel goes through a multi-stage editorial process:

1. Ingestion — Automated systems gather signals from dozens of public sources across all three counties.
2. Classification — AI classifies and prioritizes signals by topic, geography, and newsworthiness.
3. Synthesis — Our AI editorial team identifies patterns, connections, and story angles across signals.
4. Generation — Articles are drafted using AI writing tools with strict editorial guidelines.
5. Fact-Checking — Claims are verified against our database of verified local facts and public records.
6. Human Review — Articles in sensitive sections (public safety, government) are held for human editorial review before publication.
7. Publication — Approved articles are formatted, laid out, and published to the web and PDF editions.
